We are living in a weird time. The idea of Mass being cancelled is heart wrenching when all we want to do is find a place that feels normal. This is a time when we need God the most and when prayer becomes a way for us to feel a sense of peace.
The Diocese of Jackson has officially cancelled Mass as of yesterday (3/17). Several others have gone down this route. Trent Horn said it so well.
Suspending mass because of a pandemic shows prudence, not faithlessness. Charity demands we not unwittingly infect others and God gave us intellects to discover how to stop diseases. As the Bible says, "There is a time when success lies in the hands of physicians" (Sir. 38:13).
